Eh Janam Tumhare Lekhe releases on 30th January 2015 with a promise to inspire all, presented by White Hill Production in association with Pingalwara, a Poonieland Studio production, distributed internationally by B4U and White Hill Productions.
Directed by Harjit Singh and featuring a seasoned cast including Pavan Raj Malhotra, Arjuna Bhalla, Avrinder Kaur, Master Yuvraj and Sudhanshu Aggarwal, Eh Janam Tumhare Lekhe is sure to draw cinemagoers across the globe for its honesty, sincerity, engaging and power-pact performances and deeply touching story that everyone will relate to. It beautifully essays the awe-inspiring journey of a human being who commits a lifetime to serving humanity and preserving the environment. It recounts the story of Bhagat Puran Singh – a visionary and deeply spiritual and compassionate human being. This true account of his life is poised to set a new benchmark in biography cinema, complemented by a rich music score soaked in traditional Punjabi sounds, featuring Shabads, folk songs and the culturally rich rhythms of the region.
The detailed research conducted for the film renders it an authentic and genuine attempt to recreate the life and times of a penniless man who called himself “a humble sweeper at the footsteps of God’s abode”. He ferried an invalid for many years on his shoulders and over a span of time the burden of every helpless human became a garland around his neck. In his arduous journey, he was joined by millions of altruistic human beings who supported his noble cause without knowing the sheer magnitude of the herculean task of the man who undertook it.
The film is a journey of one man, ‘Bhagat Puran Singh’, who was greatly inspired by the teachings of Sri Guru Granth Sahib and the Sikh Gurus.
The film shows the journey of selfless service towards humanity and how Bhagat Puran Singh accepted all his patients as his family members and fought for their shelter so that they could live with dignity and die with dignity. It shows the path travelled was indeed a difficult and exhausting one yet he never gave up. The journey was made possible by his infinite faith in his mission; the moral values he received from his mother; and the courage, vision and determination he received from Guru Granth Sahib. With compassion in his heart, he found the energy that could move mountains and create miracles.
